The Icon of Beatrix Potter’s Work – Release Dates for the 2017 Series

The adventurous hero of Beatrix Potter’s first book was so popular that ‘The Tale of Peter Rabbit’ became the first in a series of 23 ‘small books for small hands’. The second coin in the 2017 series features Jeremy Fisher from “The Tales of Jeremy Fisher” a book dedicated to Beatris Potter’s cousin Stephanie. The book tells the tale of Jeremy Fisher, a frog that “lived in a little damp house amongst the buttercups at the edge of a pond.”
This new 50p coin for 2017 is the first coin to feature Jeremy Fisher. It features part of the most famous images of Jeremy Fisher, digging for worms to go fishing with and hoping to “catch more than five fish, I will invite my friends Mr. Alderman Ptolemy Tortoise and Sir Isaac Newton. The Alderman, however, eats salad.”
The 925 sterling silver coin features colour printing, highlighting selective elements. The coin has been finished to Proof standard and comes in a clear acrylic presentation case.
