Falkland Islands 2018 King Penguin 50p Cupro Nickel Colour Coin
The king penguin is the 2nd biggest penguin type in the world with a general population approximated at 1.2 million. It is believed that the Falklands king penguin population growth might be due to overcrowding to the south at South Georgia.
The coin includes a head shot of a King penguin displayed in marvelous colour which truly highlights the broad cheek spot contrasting with surrounding dark plumes and yellow-orange colour at the top of the chest that they are recognised by. The obverse of the coin includes the special Pobjoy Mint effigy of Her majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
