14k gold, diamond and enamel earrings in the shape of a pansy flower. Each earring is beautifully shaped and sculpted in 14k gold, with enamel covering the tops of the petals. The petals are curled and curved, with gold supports between the petals for a sound structure. Each earring has been painted in very realistic fashion, with some purple , some white  with purple edges and a spot of yellow near the center. Black 'lashes' near the center and a small prong set diamond complete the design. The earrings measure just over 1/2" wide and high, with the depth also equaling 9/16". The earnuts are signed '14k' with a small flower in a circle.
Made in the early part of the 20th century  The naturalistic quality of the pieces is second to none: the three dimensional quality combined with exquisite attention to detail is remarkable.
The flowers have a small diamond in the center of them too. The pansy is a reference to the Victorian meaning of the symbol. The pansy reminds one to remember their loved one - referring to the French verb "Pensee" - to think.
